PCHELM2025: UNLOCK, ADAPT, LEAD

The sessions for Module 1: Higher Education and Development, part of the Professional Certificate in Higher Education Leadership and Management 2025 (PCHELM 2025), were successfully conducted from July 5 to 16, 2025.

PCHELM is a strategic collaborative initiative jointly organised by the Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT), the National Higher Education Research Institute (IPPTN), Universiti Sains Malaysia, and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) since 2023. Designed as a professional development programme, PCHELM aims to empower administrative and academic leaders across public and private higher education institutions (HEIs) and providers. The programme equips participants with comprehensive knowledge and advanced competencies to lead effectively in today’s dynamic and complex global higher education landscape.
Module 1 explored the evolution and policies of higher education systems worldwide, examining how political, economic, and societal forces shape them. It encouraged participants to think critically, analyse global challenges, align higher education with international development agendas, and envision future directions for the sector.
